The Southwest California Legislative Council Supports Mount San Jacinto Community College

On record in support of Mt. San Jacinto Community College, serving Southwest California including the cities of Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, and Temecula.

The SWCLC, representing the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, Murrieta Chamber of Commerce, and Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce along with the Economic Development Corporation of Southwest California [EDCSC], including the 70 manufacturing, professional, retail, city and county members of the EDC, and the Murrieta Temecula Group [MTG] want to recognize and compliment MSJC and its administrative leadership under Dr. Richard Giese for their educational programs throughout Southwest California.

MSJC's role as a leader in community college education, as well as workforce development education, has been and is an integral part of the continuing development of Southwest California, which includes Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, Temecula, and the unincorporated regions of Southwest Riverside County.

The efforts MSJC has made in the past few years to deliver quality, focused education programs for Southwest California, an area that has grown from approximately 250,295 in the year 2000 to a current population of over 314,296, are greatly appreciated by SCLC, the EDC, and MTG.

In ongoing annual SWOT [Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats] research programs sponsored by the EDC [hosting over 120 key business, community, and government leaders], higher and continuing education with particular emphasis on workforce development was deemed critical to continuing economic development. MSJC has responded to that need.

Dr. Richard Giese, the MSJC Administration, and the MSJC Board of Trustees professionalism and the quality of education they provide is a critical component in the continuing growth of Southwest California.
